Speaking in New York, Guterres said that this aid would contribute to the country in cash as well as food, water, medicine and other basic needs.
He added that the intensification of conflicts in Ukraine threatens “all humanity”, and that the once “unthinkable” possibility of nuclear war is on the agenda again.
Guterres called for an immediate end to hostilities and serious negotiations based on the articles of the UN Charter and International Law.
